"The photographer who shoots portraits of people...the most important weapon in his armoury...is his personality" - Albert Watson, legendary "Vogue" photographer

Andy Currie is a professional photographer based in Greenock, Scotland, who specialises in Weddings, Portraits and small Events photography. Andy has all his own teeth and a few modern additions, a full head of increasingly transparent hair, has recently taken to wearing glasses and is probably 6 inches under height for his weight.

I was born and bred in Greenock, but now live in Gourock with my wife of over 27 years, Karen. We have two beautiful and talented daughters of 25 and 23, and both are Honours graduates of Glasgow University.

My passion has always been for photography. It's been at the centre of my life since I was 12, and I've been fortunate enough to evolve my photographic skills as I went along!

I’ve been involved in photography for over 30 years now, eventually turning my passion into a business in its own right. I've covered several aspects of photography - weddings, sports, photojournalism, portraiture, landscape photography and then teaching photography.

I've done work for several big clients including Mirror Group Newspapers, Forth & Clyde Press, IBM, Scottish Power, Ramada Hotels, BSkyB and several smaller companies. I've also had pictures and articles published in several photographic magazines over the years, as well as having my personal work exhibited in the Dean Gallery, National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh.

For the techies amongst you, we use Nikon D700 professional DSLR's with the full range of Nikon Professional lenses. In the studio we use Bowens lights and Lastolite products of various kinds. Our computers are Dell workstations and laptops.

The opening of our shop and studio at 20 Grey Place, Greenock comes after 20 years of working from home. We have done so successfully but the new shop gives us a window to the world that money can't buy - that front window is in a great position!!

Why not drop in for a chat and a coffee and see what we have to offer?? - we'd be delighted to see you!
